Nike Air Max Beijing 2008 Collection

While much of the Beijing 2008 themed lifestyle releases has revolved around the basketball side of things with the Dunk and Air Force 1, here we see a preview into an upcoming Air Max collection. The models include a little bit for everybody with two Air Max 87s, two pairs of Air Max BWs and single releases from the Air Max 90 and Air Max 95. The whole collection is inspired by the technical marvel and marquee Beijing National Stadium. Dubbed the “Bird’s Nest” stadium, the releases all feature various elements from the wired design to the eight-sided octagon construction. The overall color palette is quite conventional with a series of cohesive colorways to mark the August 8 releases.

Jim Phillips x Puma First Round - "Screaming Hand"

Heres a look at the Puma First Round coming from the Jim Phillips x Puma collaboration. As you can see, the shoes does a great job displaying the conjunction between it and the Santa Cruz logo. It features black patterns based on the line-work of the graphic seen on the blue upper. Select bits of red are incorporated on the Form Stripe, heel and liner. The Screaming Hand icon is also seen on the back of the shoe. Along with your purchase of the shoe, you will also receive a t-shirt. Along with the premier of the film, there will be an exhibition titled Beautiful Losers Exhibition Lightning Bolt curated by Aaron Rose, showcasing artists from America, Milan and Madrid being held in Harajuku at the Laforet Museum from August 2nd to the 8th. Just yesterday we did a little overview of what will be releasing in celebration of Converse's 100th Anniversary. Well now we get a closer look at the Chuck Taylor in it's Leather Jacket coating. The shoe features patchwork with all black anodized zippers and waxed laces and as you can see, the shoe is based on vintage motorcycle jackets. New Era Berlin Flagship Store - Opening Exclusives

As some of you may know, New Era will be opening their second European flagship store August 2nd in Berlin Mitte, Germany. The store features the biggest choice of New Era caps worldwide, housing two floors of around 1000 caps. In celebration of the stores opening, New Era will be putting together some limited released caps that will only be available at the new store. There will be four caps releasing, all in which are inspired by the different areas of the city. The according area name is even embroidered under the brim of the cap, sort of like the old school Mars Blackmon 'Brooklyn' cap concept.

Just yesterday we announced the upcoming 1World Air Force 1 collaboration with ?estlove of The Roots. Today we have ?estlove himself displayed some photos of his own Air Force 1. As you can see the shoes both feature unique color-ways with metallic gold swooshes. There also is said to be two versions of the shoe: one with a metallic gold toe and one with a maroon and red toe. ?uestlove mentions that 25 lucky people across the country will open their boxes to find a golden ticket but did not mention what the ticket is for, you’ll just have to cop a pair to find out if you are lucky. Available August 1st at the Alife Rivington Club, August 5th at UBIQ, and August 7th at Undefeated.

As some may already know, the next chapter of the Nike 1World project will be taking off very soon. After previously working with Busy P from Edbanger Records, Kaws and others, ?uestlove from The Roots is the next to collaborate on an Air Force 1.

The Air Questo out of this collaboration will first be released at the Alife Rivington Club on August 1st. Not only will the shoe be releasing, but Questlove himself will be there in person and will be performing.

Japanese Denim featured on Tokyo Eye

This video does an excellent job of showcasing Japanese denim in Tokyo. In the video Gordon from Blue in Green stops by some of Tokyo's finest denim shops and talks about the history behind the denim. The one part of the video that I was amazed by is when he stopped a workshop that specializes in customized aging of denim! Most definitely a must watch for denim fanatics like myself. Nike Future Sole Competition Recap

When Nike first launched the competition, it was an unreal opportunity for up and coming/inspiring footwear designers. After long hard hours of fumbling through 150 sketches they found their top two finalist. The objective for the two finalist was to design their own Force and Flight shoes. They each got to work under seasoned Nike footwear designers as well: Juan Carlos Pozo of Florida went to work with Sports Culture Designer Marc Dolce on a Flight model (Air Flight Comanche) while his counterpart from Massachusetts, Ben Adams-Keane put the touches on a Force (Air Force Adapt) shoe with the help of Jordan Brand Designer, Justin Taylor. The prizes for this competition is what had us here at SoleDiction blown! Just if the Apple grand prize weren't enough, each designer was also presented with 3D models of their designs! Nike did a great job with this project, best we've seen yet as far as competitions go.

Nike recently commissioned Korean toy-maker Coolrain to hand-make over 50 different figures. Two exclusive figures are for sale currently on pre-order with ten pieces of Speedy and Chip RB (yellow) available. Each sporting highly detailed handmade sneakers.
